for ya bump on a Friday..
Waaay back when.. pre 1999… Westcoast hip hop wasn’t getting any internet love, the WestCoast Ridah Report was born on daundaground.com – in the midst of change in the hip hop scene.. its back! Since the inception of the Westcoast Ridah Report, there have been websites and blogs created… dubbcnn.com 2002, westcoastrydaz.com 2003, and more to rep’ the westcoast well. The void in hip hop has helped bring back the Report… without much further, you wanna see it here it go..
Westcoast Ridah Report Thanks 4 Jaking 2009
I was one of the lucky ones to get a ticket to this sold out (in 48 hours) show. I must admit that this was my first time getting up close and personal at a Mos Def show, and the man can definitely command a crowd. Whosane opened for him and he was’nt bad either. The local group, Language Arts Crew, warmed the crowd up with a funky old school hiphop feel that set the tone quite nicely. I heard Mos Def on the radio earlier that day talking about how much he loves the bay area, and he felt it right back last night fa sho. If you get a chance to check him out JUST DO IT!!
Sounds were provided by DJ Illtraxx and friends who would frequently get on the mic and rep Da Undaground on KSJS 90.5fm. Its nice to know that you were a part of change that made a real difference. I cant wait to see a DJ make it big and say they started at Da Undaground KSJS. I rejoice in knowing that people are now allowed to learn any format they want on their own college radio station due to efforts me and my friends made in the past. AND THEY STILL CALL IT DA UNDAGROUND — NICE!
